Mr. Dougherty joined the firm in 2020 after graduating with high honors from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he was among the top ten students in his class. He serves clients across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including commercial and construction litigation, complex tort defense, medical malpractice defense, long-term care defense, products liability, personal injury, and business and probate-related matters.
Mr. Dougherty is a third-generation Fort Smith native. Before joining the firm, he clerked for two summers at one of the nation’s premier national defense trial firms in Atlanta, Georgia, where he gained experience assisting some of the world’s largest insurance companies and corporations in complex civil litigation matters. His legal scholarship has been published in the Arkansas Law Review, on which he served as a member of the editorial board.
Apart from his practice, Mr. Dougherty is heavily involved in the Fort Smith community and cares deeply about furthering the region’s civic and economic development. He spends his spare time among family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
